Mastering ClipDeck: Advanced workflows and Exclusions
ClipDeck is designed to be simple on the surface, but it packs several powerful features for power users. Here is how you can level up your clipboard workflow.
History Pinning
We all have those snippets we need constantly: a specific hex color code, a zoom link, or an email template. In ClipDeck, you can pin any item to the top of your list.
Pinned items are protected. If you change your history limit or click "Clear All", your pinned items will survive the purge. They act as a permanent snippet library.
Configuring Exclusions
Security is paramount. While ClipDeck is 100% offline, you still might not want your passwords saved in plain text in your history.
Open the Settings window and navigate to the Exclusions tab. Click "Add App..." to open a native macOS file picker. Select any app—like 1Password, Keychain Access, or your banking app. Once added, ClipDeck will completely ignore any copy actions performed while those apps are in focus.
